KSDE Needs Assessment
The Kansas State Department of Education (KSDE) Building Needs and State Assessment Review is a required process for Kansas school districts established through HB 2567, Sec. 12.
As part of this process, each school Building Leadership Team reviews Kansas Assessment Program data, along with KSDE-identified staff, student and school information. Based on this review, each team identifies needs and recommends action steps focused on improving student outcomes and increasing the number of students achieving at state assessment levels 3 and 4.
During the August 24 and August 31, 2026 Special Board of Education workshops, Boards members were provided with each school’s needs assessment to review barriers, suggested action steps and verify priorities for budget approval.
